A Delivery

Post by Dock Delivery »

The ding of a bell in the distant dark awakes the workers of the dock that a ship approaches.

The dock workers of Tranos awake and stretch from their brief nap between attending ships. An unknown ship approaches
from the fog that lays only a few feet above the water.

The dock hands acknowledge the ship and bid it to more on the dock. It unloads various crates and packages to be sent
throughout the city and then land. However, before the dock hands can unleash the moorings the hands on the ship say they have one more thing to drop off.
The dock hands were not prepared for this.

A litter was lowered out of the ship. A large body was upon it.

“What is this?” One of the dock hands questioned.

“We don’t know” a sailor answered. “We were just told to bring him here.”

The dock hands stood staring at the body on the litter. Meanwhile the ship cast off to it’s next destination.
Pulling back the blanket, one of the dock hands revealed an arm of the body. It bore the insignia of the black dragon.

“It must be a warrior” he said to his coworkers. Without any second guessing they loaded the body onto a cart and headed
through barters market, through the square and to the warriors guild. Once there, they left the litter and body on the ground
in front of Hellemburg. Hellemburg shouted:

“You can’t leave this hear!"

It was too late, they were already gone.

Hellemburg looked down at the blanket covered body on the stretcher.
The old Warrior guardian pulled back enough of the blanket to just reveal the bodies face.
He couldn’t believe who he saw. It was one of his own.

With a roar the dragon Gundax sails from the battlements of the Warrior's Fortress, his wings spread wide, a warhammer in his hands, a mallet strapped to his flank, and a shield to his back. Landing near Hellemburg he folds his wings behind him and settles on the ground, his large claws digging grooves in the ground.

"Order drinks tonight, a celebration will be had to give glory to Zir. A warrior has fallen. As this warrior gave glory to Zir in battle during his life, we will give glory to Lord Zir in his death too. Get details of the warrior's deeds to be sung about over the table tonight. And see what you can learn of what brought an end to this life."

Hellemburg looked up at Gundax, "He is still alive" he responded.

Hellemburg then looked the body over even further. Pulling an arm out of the litter he noticed a scar leading up the ogre bodies arm.
A large portion of the flesh was removed in an obviously grotesque fashion.

The warrior gate keeper then pulled his other arm from out of his blanket. Then Hellemburg notices another emblem tattooed into the skin
of the Ogre. It was the emblem of the Order of the Knights. Hellemburg stood back.

"I must have been mistaken." He said, "He is not one of us."

Hellemburg called for a cartier to come and retrieve the body. They complied without question and took the body off to Devardec.
