GM Nomination period

Post by anerausa »

While later than intended, those who must have approved our officer selection procedure and we are able to begin the process of selecting our GuildMaster.

Outlined below is our procedure regarding this. Per our charter, the nomination period will begin now and run until the otherwordly date of September 9th.

Officer Selection Procedure

GM Elections:
Shall be held every 6 OOC months. All Enchanters in good standing who are registered citizens may run for the position. An announcement shall be made and for a period of one OOC week all nominees must place their intention to run on the message boards. During this time, members may seek out the nominees for further information either in the lands or on the message boards. Following the nomination and question period, the guild shall vote on their Guild Master via in game guildvote. All members in good standing who are registered citizens may vote in this method. Votes shall be weighed as one vote per member. At the end of the OOC week, the winner will be announced.

GL Selection:

The Enchanters guild shall have no fewer than one GL, and no more than 3. If a GL position becomes open the GM will announce the opening on the message boards as well as the Guild MotD so the membership at large knows the position is being filled. All members in good standing and registered citizens may place their intent to run on the message boards. For a period of one OOC week, the members at large as well as the GM are able to seek more information from the GLs on their intent. At the conlcusion of the week, the GM shall pick from the announced candidates to fill the position. This ensures the Guild officer team as a whole is able to work together and compliments each other’s skill sets and availability to the members at large.

GL Removal:
If at any time the GM feels the GL is failing in their duties, they can remove the GL from their position and initiate a GL Selection process. The same GL position may not be voted for more than once every OOC month. This is to ensure that new GLs have time to acclimate to their position and to try to afford the guild stability in leadership.

GL Accountability:
GLs are selected and removed by the GM. Their performance is a reflection on the Guild Master. If the guild feels the GM has made a poor selection in their officers, they should speak to the GM. If the GM is unable to account for their GLs actions, and refuses to take action, this reflects upon the GM and the guild may call a vote of confidence. If the GM changes, this does not necessarily mean the GLs will change as well, however, the GM can if they so choose, begin a GL selection process.

Votes of Confidence:
If the guild feels the GM is failing at performing their duties in the best interest of the guild, the members may call a vote of confidence. Three different members must post their dissatisification on our guild message boards, clearly labeled with their intent to call a vote of confidence. Once three members have done so, the guild shall initiate a vote that will last one week. This vote shall be placed on GUILDVOTE where all members in good standing and registered citizens of the guild may cast their votes. The votes will be weighed as one vote per Enchanter. This vote may be called only once every OOC 30 days. If the GM fails the Vote of Confidence, the three candidates who initiated the vote immediately become the new nominees and the guild will vote on their new leader.

I will continue in my position as Guildmaster should you desire it. My goals in the upcoming term are to work with Guildmasters in our other mage guilds to hold the second Great Arcane Assembly, assuming they are willing to put forth the effort. I wish to work towards increasing our treasury. Our tithe coffers are most impressive, but I would like to see our guild enjoy more financial security. I also wish to extend a formal invitation to Lady Omnicat to remain as patron of our guild as with our new structures we are able to petition our patrons, but I can think of no other member of the heavens who has worked beside or for our guild for as long as she.

Should she wish to, I will keep Kierra on as my GO. Jointly this term we have overseen the restructuring of our charter and have been compiling several packets of information in preparation for our guild's inevitable growth. Including information for mentors, a streamlined procedure for mentoring to be sure that all apprentices are taught the same essential skills. Also we have prepared a scroll outlining secrets, treasures, and information contained in our guild to provide to the heavens in the event that some day in the future, our guild was left abandoned with no one to transfer the mantle properly. This will ensure the legacy of our guild will always be able to continue should, Gods forbid, our mortal leadership should ever let us down.

I believe I have made it a point to touch in with each of our members both old and new as they have entered our halls, and plan to continue doing the same. I have remained available and accessible to all both in our halls, and outside of our halls to conduct any guild business with me. While that in itself should not have to be brought up as a talking point, it seems it is more than many other guilds have enjoyed.
