It would be nice to have last names as an option.
It would not be required. Once you set it, you would be unable to change it without help from staff. It would follow your character's name in your title, and the comma would go after the last name.
If your character does not have a last name, or for other reasons does not want to display it or acknowledge it, nothing would change. If a character marries another and wishes to take the last name, that would also be an option.
From a code standpoint, I guess it would just be like a PREFIX or SUFFIX, but I'm just a caveman.

Re: Last Names
I like this idea. Though, to make less work for staff, it could be a TL or GM change. On the flip side though, I can see potential for abuse. I like the idea though.

Re: Last Names
Like the idea. Although, I don't agree a GM should change it. Maybe a TL if they were officiating nuptials or "marrying" someone, but only for that reason and no other.

Re: Last Names
That's what I was referring to. Sorry I didn't clarify it, and thank you for putting that up Venis.

I think abuse at this point would be rare and could be dealt with swiftly. Presumably if I made my name Sliper Kiltspar, I would be rightly punished. <g>
