Run Free

Post by Ermak »

She knew something was wrong, with the look in his eyes or what there was lack of. He was usually happy, and she could tell lately that something was going on with him. Lynx purred loudly as he approached her with harness in hand.

"We are going to the temple today." the words made her eyes widen and a smile perk across her face, it was as if he was feeding her her favorite dish, stewed dog and rabbit. But it was far from the case.

They walked for hours, taking the long path back and stopping to see a few of the shrines of dreams. They reached their destination, to the fluffy clouds of white that held the hallowed temple.

He removed the reigns from her and she was confused, bashing her head into his chest she wouldn't leave his side.

"You're free, Lynx." he said expressionless.

She still wouldn't leave him, he would try to leave and she would follow. He thought to himself for a moment.

"Let's go to the Gazebo, maybe Omni is there."

He let her lead, and as they entered the room her glance was away from him, it gave him the time to slip in to the shadows and leave unnoticed.

"Run free, Lynx. Try to eat as many rats and dogs as your belly can."

He thought he would have cried, but no tear fell down his cheek. He had changed, and not for the better. But he knew this was the right thing to do, as it was one of Omnicats treasured animals, and he couldn't let anything bad happen to her. He didn't look back, he couldn't look back. In the gazebo he left her, in good hands she would be found by a few of the faithful and returned to Omnicat.
