Reminiscing 200 Years.

Post by B and F »

Sitting in the garden in the Temple of Love, she takes a seat and reminisces about her wedding within these same gardens some 200 years ago. Looking at the roses, their heart shaped petals pulling at her heart strings, remembering the first one he ever gave her. Back further yet, the way he protected her. She still had a likeness and feather of the owl he had her use, his own owl..Turic. He followed her around and kept her safe, off to find Friget should anything happen to her. He fought demons, the Gods of Death even to keep her safe. There was a time when everything seemed to happen to her, and she was rather helpless for most things. However, she never had to worry because she knew she would be safe with her husband around.

How things change.

Her husband, Friget, the current Ranger. He was a battlemage dressed in crystal armor when they met. He etched her name in his armor so she would always be close to him. She has changed as well. A druid at the time she met him, tortured by the demons that were wanting her for reasons she couldn’t remember anymore, thankful that those memories do not haunt her anymore. Since then, she has transformed from the druid into an enchanter that has, thanks to his tutelage, learned how to use spells to help protect herself. She is not very good at them, and he teaches her still with the patience of a saint and loving hand that could only come from deep love and understanding.

There was a time she would wish she could do more, to make him proud of her, to deserve the love and affection he gave her. Even though subtle, it was there. She smiles, thinking of the last time he said he was proud of her. Her face breaking out in a smile. The hard work they put into her learning her new craft. Him breaking down her barriers of not wanting to kill things. They had gone hunting together. First time they were able to actually hunt anything together, where she didn’t feel completely useless on the field of battle. Of course she fumbled still, but there will come a time she is better at it. She just felt a light inside her when he said he was proud of her that could have lit up the lands.

Looking at the heart shaped petals of the roses, she remembered, the ups and downs, like the curves of the petals, is how life goes...especially in love. There is give and take. Caring and Loving. Downfalls and uphill battles won. She has seen many of those things, but they all seemed trifling matters because she had one thing that was consistent. Her life. Her family. Her heart. Her love. Her Friget.

She pulls the white owl feather from her pack, removing it from a velvet pouch she keeps it in. Remembering Turic and Friget from so many years ago, putting it in her hair. Standing, she twirls the wedding ring she has never taken off and kisses it thinking,
“Thank you for 200 years of putting up with my troubles, may we have many more. I love you.”
