PEOPLE OF TERRIS!

This is your official notice that the Monk's Guild is doing a guild/landwide contest for exploration skills! Below I have a list of twenty rooms by name and description. You are to go exploring, find the room, and give me the room number! Rings will be provided with earth light to help facilitate your efforts in this. Please message me so I can hand out the rings to those participating. None of these rooms are behind level portals, but many do require special commands and/or general items to get to, so pay attention! A few rooms are spell difficult: provide the results of an examine in this room to verify that you were there. These rooms are noted in the list.

There will be two tiers of prizes! One for Monks only, and one for landwide (Monks get an advantage here because they are competing against less people). Winners will be determined by the most number of rooms correct combined with who submitted those rooms first! IE: a person who submits 5 rooms correctly first will lose to a person who submits 18 rooms correctly second. Preference is given to the most number of rooms correct! Make sure you check your answers; results will not be shared until the contest is over!

Prizes are as follows!

1st: 1 million gold and your choice of Hero Colors or a one-session weapon.
2nd: 500k gold and your choice of Hero Colors or a one-session weapon.
3rd place: 250k gold.

The contest will run until the OOC date of 8/31 at 11:59 PM PST. Your answers can be emailed to me, or sent in messages. Email is preferred. As always, it's fearecia@gmail.com. If you email, be sure to title your email "Find That Room Contest" so I can locate it easily.

The ROOMS!

1.
An Alcove Hidden Behind the Waterfall
The roaring noise from the waterfall softens to a murmur as
you walk along the grassy bank of this secluded alcove.
Water trickles from above, leaving the ground moist and soft.
Charred wood from a recent campfire rests in the corner.
Obvious Exits:

2.
Near the River Tralen
The tall grass begins to thin out as the field gets closer to the edge
of the river. Parts of the dirt trail have planks of wood stuck into it
as a base for a rickety bridge. Dark reeds stick out of the ground,
some of them are cracked as if something large was here.
Obvious Exits: North South

3.
A Gazebo in the Clouds
Covered with climbing tea roses, the gazebo stands alone
atop one fluffy white cloud. Members of The Temple gather here
often. More than one Temple interview has been conducted among
the velvety soft cushions that line the wooden benches.

4.
Gateway into the Crystal Castle
An iridescent gateway stands here, surrounded by carvings of
mythical beasts. Butterflies flit amongst the delicate, rainbow
hued flowers. Benches carved from pure crystal provide
surprisingly comfortable seating amongst the still garden.
Obvious Exits: Down

5.
In a Lavish Chamber
Thin pools of liquid fire line the walls of this chamber, sticking out
of them are tall black mithril pillars. An orange glow appears from
holes that have been cut into the mithril. Covering the ground is a
large symbol, showing the differing crests of the Dread Gods.
Obvious Exits: North

6. (Provide Examine results for this room)
At the Palace Doors of Elfen'Lar
The gold of these doors would be enough to buy a man his own
barony today, though it would be a brave man who tried. Carved
with beautiful pictures of spring in Nirimloth, the doors give
off a sense of dread so palpable it could be cut with a knife.

7. (Provide Room Examine)
Hidden Glade
Amazingly, you have stumbled upon a beautiful glade
set apart from the rest of the area. Here, the air smells
of morning and a gentle breeze caresses your skin. A
large tree stands majestically in the center of the glade.

There is a sign here

8.
The Nexus Point of the Gods
Here you see the great joy that is Deori's world. From this
place you feel warm and safe here. The whole area is dominated by a
huge oak tree. The tree has been carved to form a huge throne.
You feel the gaze of the gods upon you!
There is a shimmering portal above
Obvious Exits: West

9.
Ewwwwww Bilge
You stand knee deep in disgusting filthy brown water. Who
knows what's floating around down here. You feel like your
standing on melon sized stones making it hard to keep
your balance.
Obvious Exits: South Up

10.
An Underground Garden
A simplistic statue has been carved into the floor.
Small beds of dark flowers are against the far
wall. Odd mushrooms and clovers are in the center
of the cave.
Obvious Exits: NorthWest

11.
Within a Cavern
The walls glitter with some form of magical light. You can't
help but feel as if light bombards this location with its
magical energy. You feel as if any Naturalist abilities within
you are strengthened.
Obvious Exits: Up

12.
Room of Columns, in the base of a huge shell
A gale-force wind whips through tall, flute-like formations in
stone covered with markings. At intervals, the wind
produces a tonal note, a musical shriek of a thousand angels
and a thousand demons combined in a chorus.

13.
Hidden Room Inside Kell's Keep
This room is obviously a place of magic. The walls shimmer, and a
glowing portal in the southeast corner. Around the room are pieces
of makeshift furniture, haphazardly put together for what seems to
be a temporary living area. A large table is in the center of the room.
Obvious Exits: SouthEast

14. (Provide Room Examine)
In the Mosh Pit
This large room has a very smooth floor, perfect
for gyrating wildly to strange music. Around the
walls, scenes have been painted in great detail.
From behind you comes a thrumming sound.
Obvious Exits: Up

15.
Beside an Eel's Hole in the Caverns
You stand in front of a large hole in the cavern
walls. The head of a large eel is just partially visible
in the hole. Other ocean life seems to be in decay
here probably due to the presence of this predator.
Obvious Exits: North SouthEast

16. (Tell me what the sign says)
In a small cave
This cave seems to have magical energy running through
it. You sense that great things happen in this place.
It is as though the cave was waiting to hear what you
had to say.
Obvious Exits: South
There is a sign here

17.
At the rear of a dark cave
The cave is warm and very dark. You see simple paintings upon
the back wall. You cannot help but feel a little uneasy in here.
The only exit reaches to the south and back towards the harsh
winter weather.

18.
Lyceum of Chance
Billiard tables stretch over the far end of the room. A dartboard
hangs along the western wall, while a few card tables are arranged
in the center. A roulette wheel has been placed in the corner and is
attended by an unruly looking dwarf.

19.
Femfendar Potted Garden
The garden is cramped with femfendar plants and is nearly
impossible to navigate. On a clothesline extending the length
of the room are dwarven clothes, cleaned and reeking of orange.
This is the source of the prevailing smells of the apartment.
Obvious Exits: South

20.
Giant Redwoods
The grove gets darker as ye step in this part of it, the light
is having trouble penetrating the thick branches of these huge
trees. But you can hear the abundance of wildlife making some
serious noise up there!

Oooooo! That's an excellent idea, Alyce! Any other Guildmasters who want to join in and encourage their guild to compete is welcome to add their own prizes to the pool!

Remember: You don't have to get every room. You just have to be the first person to get the most rooms right!

And the results are in!

Coming in at first place with an impressive 18 rooms, was Pari and Southbound!

Second place was taken by Anera with 17 rooms!

Coming in at third place was Tashmaal, with 12 rooms!
