A scramble for answers

Post by aoveron »

Landing in a clearing in Northern Dirimloth with a large thud, Aoveron folds up his wings and peers into the darkness between the trees before shimmering slightly and shrinking down to travel size. Another waste of time, another failed scouting trip. He still hadn't discovered where the Dde'rni were coming from. While most signs still pointed to Croft, he wasn't 100% convinced, but had no other suspects thus far. These scouting missions were becoming increasingly frustrating as they failed to yield any results.

Glancing around one last time, he remembers Ripshaw's warning. He knew the Ranger would guard these woods as if they were his own home, which was mostly true anyway. The Dde'rni were unlikely to be hiding in the forest now, if they ever were. But still, maybe Ripshaw had seen something since he'd been back. Aoveron made a mental note to track the Ranger down soon.

Adjusting the pack on his thigh, Aoveron reached out a claw to lightly touch one of the shadows, then he stepped forward....into the shadow. A moment later, he stepped out into his office back in the Keep. Chuckling lightly, he had to admit that traveling through the shadows was very convenient. He was glad he learned the trick for it. Though....he would have to remember to ask permission when Lord Silk returned. It wouldn't do to offend too many Gods at once.

The moment he stepped out of the shadows into his office, everything suddenly felt very
wrong. He'd felt dark magic within the barony before due to Mantor's legacy, but nothing like this. It was too diffuse and gone within moments though, so he couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Suddenly very worried, he decided it was time to meet up with Jasra to discuss the magical defenses.
