History of Fonzie My Father, Almightygod, was a mighty Warrior of olde. I found out after his death that he hailed from the far away lands of the Savante, and had come to Terris to become a Warrior and spread his knowledge of the forge. While fighting one day, he met a Lady Knight named Lucy, and they fell in love. He bought them a farm with the earnings from his art, outside of Goldcroft. A few years later, I was born. I grew up watching my father at the forge, and spent my childhood pumping the bellows. My mother made sure I was taught to read by the schoolmaster in town, and taught me manners and other useless things. Anyhow, my father taught me to fight using two swords, one to stun, the other to kill, and I mastered this technique at a young age. He also taught me to use massive two handed swords. My mother schooled me in martial arts, and the usage of bows, and the beginnings of jousting. So, at the age of 18, a few days after my birthday, my father forged me a couple of broad swords, and my mother made me some leather armour, and they gave me a few hundred gold coins, and I went out to find my way into the world. I first found my way to Tranos, and at first I desired to become a great Warrior, like my father. I adventured around, fighting evil creatures that attacked me, gaining experience until I could join the guild. One day, I somehow found myself in Dandyloses Despair. I had heard nasty stories about the place, and sought an exit. I was fell upon by dark trolls and their ilk, but managed to retreat to the exit. A solo Dark Troll followed me out, and I engaged in battle with him. I did not notice the nearby stranger watching, until after the fight, when he approached me, and asked where I had learned to fight like that. I told him about my father, and he said that my father must be of his people, the Savante. The stranger introduced himself then as Macart, a Knight of the realm. He asked me about my family, and what my plans for the future were. I told him how I planned to be a mighty Warrior like my father, and he said that long ago, the Warriors once were Knights, and if I had considered that guild. I admitted I had not, and he asked me what my ideals were, what I stood for. I told him I wanted glory in combat, and to help others whenever possible. We spoke at length, and he convinced me to meet other Knights and then decide upon a final guild. After meeting others, I decided to join, and hope my fathers disappointment in me wouldn't be too great. So I slew the Banderlang, and smooth talked Cassamire into admitting me. I went home every now and then, and spoke with my parents, though asking about my Savante heritage never crossed my mind. Then one day, I returned to find my father had passed away, and I would never have the chance to ask him about his past. After talking with my mother, I found out a little, and he had taken her to his lands to meet his family. I convinced her to return there, and take me, since she had no family left here. We sailed long, and made it safely to the shores of the Savante Lands. My mother introduced me to my aunts and uncles, and they insisted that I partake of a rite of passage. I was stripped to a kilt, given two sharp sticks, and sent into the woods for 4 days. I was freezing, so I searched about for some shelter. I found a cave, but alas, it was not empty. I was attacked by a huge Cave Bear. I sprang at him, and stabbed one stick into his throat, and the other into his shoulder. He swiped at me, and clawed down my back. I ducked around him, and jumped onto his back, and got a death hug on his neck. It seemed like forever, but eventually his breath gave out. Shivering from loss of blood, and just plain cold, I slew him, and after many hours, managed to skin the bear with a rock. I survived on the meat, and kept myself warm in the cave, and I wear the scars on my back with pride. So I returned from the lands, a changed man, you might say. Though the scars do still pain me when it gets very damp and cold, I try to hold myself higher then before, with more Honor, and Dignity, knowing that the blood of the People flows through my veins. After many years in the Knights, I grew restless and it finally reached a point where I couldn't stand the protocol and feigned politeness anymore. So I got myself relieved from services, and found a new home with the independent nature of the Rogue's guild, and soon found myself quickly adapting to the shadows and stealthy nature, and am proud to serve as Guild Master of our rowdy lot. Still a member of the temple of Justice for many years, I finally grew weary of the internal battle I fought between my nature and my convictions, and left at the invitation of the new Immortal of Shadows, Silk. So now I am at home here, like I could be nowhere else. |
