While the origens of the city remain unknown, Woodtop has always been a haven for Elves of every clan. The Elven influences are evident throughout the city, from the wooden walkways, to the intricate designs, to the various construction. Even those who've Baroned the city have all been of Elvish descent. To maintain the ambiance and original beauty of Woodtop, the Baron(ess) often seeks members of various clans that specialize in the different arts of restoration and construction. Part of the majestic and mysterious Nature of Woodtop is that nearly every Elf in Norlands can trace its ancestry back to the hidden "Yarra Tal E'Amalda" (ancient city in treetops). Adept in the magical arts as well as the arts of missile weapons and some one handed weapons, Elves are slight of build. It is extremely rare to see a heavy Elf. Generally light in skin pigmentation, Elves' skin colour runs from ivory to pale ash. Most have light coloured eyes, that sparkle with knowledge. They are seen as beautiful among most of the other races. Elves are not strong and can not hold most weapons in their younger years, save the occasional dagger. Elves generally have long life spans living well into their four hundreds.
