A History of Wintertown  First Century through early Azyhieria Period Author's Note: I compiled this history mainly from the messages in the Wintertown board. Some dates were estimated using the Terris Time Converter available at Vestula Hall. Other dates were guestimated based off the few solid in-game dates I had available. First Century (1-100) Dates Unknown – Wintertown, a small farming community, is settled at the base of the Winter North Mountains. Armies of Daemons arise from the underworld, settling north of the Valley of Fields in their Daemon Citadel. Led by General Pangol, the Daemons begin to regularly terrorize the citizens of Wintertown, and the village falls into a state of depression. Second Century (101-200) Date unknown – General Pangol and his daughter Liandra begin harassing the Monks Guild of Devardec. Liandra, searching for a husband, chose Grunjin of the Monks. The Monks resist, and the nuptials never take place. 160s and 170s – Crusades of the Mad Knights. The Order of the Mad Knights begins a series of crusades in Wintertown against the invading Daemon army. The MK-run shops, watches, and patrols in Wintertown change the quality of life there for the better, if only for a while. The crusades begin to wind down with the opening of the Barony of Lyresong in 174, and is over by the start of the 180s. With the end of the crusades, the Daemons re-establish their dominance over Wintertown. Third Century (201-300) First Harvest 239 (Dec 2002) Org is appointed the Guardian of Wintertown by the city’s mayor. Drakoon pledges his support to Org, and they leave Wintertown on a quest to raise an army. Weeping Skies 241 (Jan 2003) Org returns to Wintertown as the Commander of the Northern Militia. Drakoon is Captain of Eagle Company. The Northern Militia takes up the defense and rebuilding of Wintertown. The members recorded during this time include: · Org, Commander · Drakoon, Captain of Eagle Company · Daff, Scout · Glish, Trooper · Kalari, Lieutenant · Elon · Lakah · Calvin Winter Cloak 243 (23 Feb 2003) Wintertown and the Northern Militia are attacked by the Troll King's army. Org kills the king, cuts off his head, and places it on a pike in Wintertown. Deori's Pleasure 244 (7 Mar 2003) Dragons are discovered in the Daemon Citadel. The Northern Militia conducts the Dragon Campaign, eradicating the new threat. Winter Cloak 248 (3 Jun 2003) Daffodila Bulba, Acting Commander of the Northern Militia, treks the northern wastes in search of the missing Org and Drakoon. In his journal he writes, "I have found only the decritus of battle, the heaped dead smashed by a great hammer. But I cannot find them." Hallow Month 249 (20 June 2003) Wintertown is claimed by Baroness Chay and the Stormgard. It joins Abram's Landing and Hempill as holdings of the Barony of Azyhieria. Awakenings 250 (25 June 2003) Axx, a hero of the Mad Knights' Crusades, moves from Lyresong to Wintertown, becoming Lord Holder under Baroness Chay. Frost Fall 251 (16 Jul 2003) Good fortune brings bountiful crops. Axx invites trade negotiations from other baronies. Winter Cloak 253 (20 Sep 2003) Shortly following a Daemon attack, Natalia, Seneschal of Wintertown and the Stormgard, is involved in trade negotiations with Sylvanus. Daff retires the banner of the Northern Militia. (continued)
